Opening Day On The Bay Mark your calendars because the official start of the San Francisco boating season is just around the corner! On Sunday, April 28th, over 105 historic workboats, towboats, yachts and other vessels part of boating clubs throughout Northern California will set sail in celebration. Dating back over 120 years, The Pacific Inter-Club Yacht Association is one of the largest in the world. This parade of boats large and small will sail each individually decorated according to this year’s theme of “Holidays on the Bay.” Starting in Racoon Strait, the vessels will be coasting their way down to the San Francisco waterfront and arriving by noon. Make your way along The Embarcadero to witness this beautiful sight of boats passing you by all decorated to various calendar holidays. Does being onboard sound better than watching from land? There is an option to be in the middle of it all aboard The Committee Parade Boat. Relax, take in the sea-breeze, and enjoy a sit-down lunch as you partake in this traditional event.
