We love having a classic, San Francisco inspired neighbor such as ATwater Tavern, who take great pride in showcasing the best quality ingredients that can sourced from nearby farms, ranches and seas.  Located at 295 Terry Francois Blvd., this waterfront tavern provides an amazing setting, situated over the water on nearby Pier 50.

ATwater Tavern Proprietor, John Caine, gave us some insight into the industrial maritime theme at the tavern. With respect for the historic nature of the waterfront, the interior and exterior were preserved, resulting in a refreshing take on a 1923 building. The two-story space is massive and includes an upstairs deck that has ballpark views and a large downstairs patio.

Even the name has a reference to the local past.  The unique ATwater name was discovered in an old 1940’s phone book and is a reference to the old two-letter prefixes that once accompanied telephone numbers, a practice that was phased out in the 1960’s.

Besides the amazing views and daily Happy Hour from 3-6pm, here are 3 great reasons to get ATwater Tavern on your dinner dining list:

– ATwater Bouillabaisse with mussels, clams, prawns, rock fish, squid, saffron threads and herbed tomato broth. Served with house made focaccia.

– Stemple Creek Grass Fed Steak with red wine risotto, trumpet mushrooms, grilled corn, summer squash, mustard greens and aged balsamic.

– Roasted Beet Salad  with wild arugula, mizuna, rogue river smoky blue cheese and hazelnut vinaigrette.
